COMEBACK SERIES 1

07.04.2026
Hello everybody!

It’s been a while since my last posts here and to be honest I wish I was writing about something else…

For those who didn’t know yet, I tored my ACL and lateral meniscus at a preparation race right before the highlight of the season, Olympics.

Well, that highlight changed quickly into hours of laying in bed, the race suit into hospital outfit and onto the surgery table.
Not gonna lie, watching the Olympics was quite painful…

Anyways let’s go back to the accident for a second… I didn’t do anything I had never done before, a classic inside ski mistake. The mistake itself wasn’t the problem, but instead of giving up I decided to fight back to the course, just like I always do when I’m confident.
A mistake I had done hundreds of times was now an expensive one.
Do I regret it? NO, because I did what I thought was the right thing to do at the time. Giving up has never been an option and never will be.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m gonna learn from this mistake and I will be back as a smarter athlete.

After the accident we wanted to check up the knee as soon as possible. I wasn’t in pain, but I knew something was wrong.
It was not easy to find MRI nearby on the weekend, so the only option was to head to the Olympic village in Cortina for further check ups. And there it was, my worst nightmare had come true…
I was emotional, I did cry a lot, not because I was in pain but because I knew I had to get my emotions, feelings and frustration out.
Otherwise I would deal with regret the whole rehab.

On monday I was already meeting with the surgeon in Innsbruck and surgery was done the next day, tuesday 10th of february.
Couple of days in the hospital and on friday I got moved to a rehab center in Innsbruck. I was in such a good treatment for two weeks.

Big thanks to Gelenkpunkt, Sporttherapie Huber und Mair.

I headed home for two weeks of rehab and enjoying time at home. Then I headed to Croatia for a week of treatments at Terme Selce.
And then again back home for rehab, hours in pool, relaxing treatments at Feel Good Studio and Game Ready from palautuminen.com in between sessions.

Right now the process is progressing, slowly but surely!
Days are busy from rehab and I’m taking care of my knee like it is a newborn baby!
Life starts to feel normal day by day.

Thanks to Lazo, Nickco, Veera, Tanja and my parents for the biggest support!

to be continued…
