COMEBACK SERIES 2
It's been a while since I updated about my injury/rehab. To be honest everything has worked out just the way I expected.
Knee is feeling strong, it tolerates high volume of strength, jumps and running... So can't complain. During the past 3months the focus has shifted from rehab to training, it has actually been a big motivation to see the progress during this time. I know I still have a lot of work to do and I'm just about to GO SKIING soon... I accept I'm still far from racing, but I'm so grateful to get back to it regardless!
Looking back ar these last 6months I've somehow managed to not only rehab well, but never ever would I have believed that I'm capable to do two triathlon races, squat again 100kg, run long runs, jumps like never before... So I'm very thankful for myself for not giving up, but also for all the people around me who pushed me to be a better version of myself, even when I had hard time trusting the process!
I have learned so much through this process. I've worked on shifting my mindset into something that actually supports my health and performance!
Of course I wish this never happened, but it gave me the space to reflect on myself, it forced me to think outside the box, look at the opportunities, small wins, appriciate the journey, trusting myself and the process, and to get to know ME outside of skiing... And understanding that I'm still learning and still growing.
On the other hand I've got to study some mental coaching and extend my knowledge on that field. I have also found some random hobbies like playing piano and guitar, painting and pottery... Or then I'm just getting old.
Most importantly I have realised how much I really love skiing and hate the gym!
The ones who know me wouldn't have believed this, but it's true... and also from now on I won't take skiing for granted and I'm gonna enjoy all the highs and lows.
SEE YOU ON SLOPES, because I'm back!
